Malagouzia 2023 from Argyriou Winery is a monovarietal dry white wine made from 100% Malagouzia, originating from Parnassos (PGI Parnassos).
- Appearance: Pale lemon-green with yellow highlights.
- Aromas: Intense fruity and floral aromas, such as peach, apricot, lime, grapefruit, jasmine, rose and linden.
- Palate: It features a lively acidity that brings freshness, perfectly balancing its alcohol content, along with a medium-to-full body and a round, oily texture.
- Vinification: It undergoes pre-fermentation maceration (skin contact) followed by alcoholic fermentation of the must at controlled temperatures. Afterward, the wine ages on its fine lees for 2 months before bottling, enhancing its body and complexity.
It pairs excellently with grilled fish (sea bream, red porgy, or sea bass with olive oil-lemon dressing and fresh herbs), ceviche, steamed mussels, fried squid and whitebait. It also beautifully complements traditional Greek dishes (rice-stuffed vegetables/gemista, stuffed grape leaves/dolmadakia, traditional wild green or spinach pies and fried zucchini), pasta with basil pesto and vegetable risotto. Finally, it shines uniquely alongside a platter of white cheeses such as feta, goat cheese, anthotyros, katiki Domokou and manouri. Best served at 8-10°C.
