The Katogi Averoff Red is a multi-varietaldry red wine crafted from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (40%), Merlot (30%) and Agiorgitiko (30%) in the Metsovo region (PGI Metsovo).
Appearance: Clear red with deep, attractive highlights.
Aromas: A combination of red fruit aromas (such as cherry and berries) with subtle notes of spices, leather and oak.
Palate: It offers a smooth and full-bodied mouthfeel with rounded tannins and balanced acidity, leading to a long-lasting aftertaste.
Vinification & Aging: The wine undergoes classic red vinification, including pre-fermentation maceration for the Merlot and Agiorgitiko and post-fermentation maceration for the Cabernet Sauvignon. It ages for approximately 12 months in French and American oak barrels.
It pairs excellently with grilled meats, red-sauce stews (such as veal), pasta with red sauces, as well as charcuterie and yellow cheese platters. Best served at 16°C - 18°C.
