Moschato Lemnos (Muscat of Lemnos) from Kthma Chatzigeorgiou is a monovarietal, naturally sweet white wine made from 100% Muscat of Alexandria, originating from Lemnos (PDO Lemnos).
Appearance: Bright golden-yellow with amber highlights, a result of over-ripening and solar concentration.
Aromas: An intense and complex profile reminiscent of sweet grapes, dried fruits (apricot, raisins), honey, orange blossom and rose.
Palate: Rich, sweet and velvety in texture, with a balanced acidity that provides freshness and a long, aromatic finish.
Vinification: The grapes are selected when over-ripe and spread under the sun (sundried) to concentrate their sugars and aromas before pressing. Since it is a naturally sweet wine (vin naturellement doux), the sweetness comes exclusively from the grape sugars without the addition of alcohol.
It pairs exceptionally well with fruit tarts, creamy desserts, seasonal fruits and nuts, as well as "challenging" dishes like foie gras or intense blue cheeses (Roquefort, Stilton). It is ideally served at a temperature of 8-12°C.
