Muses Estate Mouhtaro is a unique, single-varietal dry red wine made from 100% Mouhtaro (PGI Thiva), revived by the Zacharias family in Askri, Boeotia. It is a robust and fruity wine from a variety grown exclusively in the Valley of the Muses.
- Appearance: Deep purple to almost black-ruby.
- Aromas: Intense bouquet of ripe red and black fruits (cherry, sour cherry, berries), notes of chocolate, vanilla, herbs (mint) and sweet spices.
- Palate: Full body with vibrant acidity and well-structured, velvety tannins.
- Vinification: Follows the classic red method, with the wine maturing for 12 months in French oak barrels.
- Aging Potential: It possesses great potential exceeding 10 years, developing a unique character over time.
It pairs excellently with red meats (beef, lamb, game), pasta with red sauces, minced meat dishes (pastitsio, moussaka) and hard yellow cheeses. Ideally served at 14 - 18°C.
