Zacharias Sklava is one of Greece's most unique white wines, produced from a nearly extinct ancient Peloponnesian variety revived exclusively by agronomist and winemaker Elias Zacharias. It is a single-varietydry white wine produced from 100% Sklava grapes, sourced from Nemea (PGI Peloponnese).
Appearance: Bright lemon-green with grey highlights.
Aromas:Medium intensity, but highly elegant. Dominant notes of white flowers (lemon blossom, jasmine), pear, green apple and citrus (bergamot).
Palate:Medium-bodied with a slightly oily texture, balanced by refreshing acidity. It features a characteristic botanical finishreminiscent of Greek mountain tea.
Vinification: Produced using the classic white vinification method, with a focus on preserving the delicate aromas of this rare variety.
Aging Potential: Best enjoyed fresh to appreciate its vibrancy, though it can be aged for approximately 3 years.
It pairs excellently with traditional Greek pies (hortopita, spanakopita), fresh salads, white cheeses, vegetable stews and steamed shellfish. Best served chilled at 8°C – 10°C.
