Avantis Estate Syrah is a robust red dry wine with an intense "personality" and an excellent cellaring potential.
Appearance: Deep ruby, almost opaque black color.
Aromas: A complex bouquet dominated by spices, black pepper, cinnamon, and tobacco, layered with dark fruits like blackberry and plum, and a touch of vanilla from the oak.
Palate: Full-bodied and robust with well-structured tannins and balanced acidity. It offers a rich, round, and long-lasting finish.
Vinification: Aged for 12 months in new French oak barrels and bottled unfiltered.
Cellaring Potential: This wine has great aging potential and can be cellared for 8 to 10 years.
It is best paired with red meats (grilled steak, lamb, or slow-cooked stews), spicy sausages, game, BBQ ribs, and aged hard cheeses. The ideal serving temperature is 14-16°C and it is highly recommended to decant for 30–60 minutes before drinking to allow the aromas to unfold and the sediment to subside, since it is bottled unfiltered and natural sediment may occur.
